The Southeastern African American Farmers Organic Network (SAAFON) was founded in 2006 with the mission to elevate the collective power, prosperity, and visibility of Black farmers committed to practicing and advancing ecologically sustainable practices. Since then, our work has been grounded in farmer organizing, cultivating connections between farmers, and investing directly into sustainable farms. We do this by cultivating liberatory approaches to land stewardship and agriculture in the Southeastern United States, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Caribbean region, and promoting the links between Black farming, Black history, and Black culture.

Georgia Organics is a dynamic statewide nonprofit investing in organic farmers and community allies to cultivate a strong local food movement.

While Georgia Organics was officially founded in 1997, its roots go back to the 1970s as an association of growers that recognized the power of collective action. Today, Georgia Organics continues to champion this ethos in support of their mission to invest in farmers for the health of our communities and the land.

This effort is achieved through a host of Farmer Services, conferences, and convenings; Community Collaborations, including Farm to School and Early Care, Family Farm Share, and Farmer Champion programs; and Farmer Advocacy. These programs are driven by a strategic plan for a lasting and systemic impact on farmer prosperity, equity, and healthy land and communities.

Food Well Alliance is a nonprofit working to build an equitable, thriving local food system in metro Atlanta. We support farmers, community gardeners, and orchard stewards, and we connect people to where their food is grown. With demand for locally grown food on the rise, it's more important than ever to equip growers with the resources they need to provide healthy, fresh food for their communities.

Our mission is to provide resources and support to local growers to connect and build healthier communities. Our vision is for an Atlanta that is locally grown and community connected.

Wholesome Wave Georgia believes that all Georgians in need should have access to fresh, healthy, locally-grown food choices.

In Georgia, over 1.4 million people are considered food-insecure and receive federal nutrition assistance including SNAP benefits. The high cost and low accessibility of fresh foods leave these households with limited options to feed their families. Food insecurity is linked to poverty, obesity, and other diet-related illnesses. The effect of food insecurity on America’s families is evident: approximately 65% of adults and 34% of children (ages 2 to 19) are overweight or obese.

Wholesome Wave Georgia encourages us to rethink the cost, accessibility, and affordability of fresh, nutritious foods in our state. Our mission is to increase access to and awareness of healthy food choices for all Georgians in need through local farmers and community partners.

We work towards our mission through our core programs: Fresh For Less, Food For Health, and SNAP Connection.

The Small Farm Outreach Program (SFOP), a part of Cooperative Extension at Virginia State University, educates and empowers small, limited-resource, socially disadvantaged and veteran farmers and ranchers to own, operate and sustain farms and ranches independently with agricultural training programs that improve farm management skills and quality of life.

SFOP provides outreach and learning opportunities to small farmers for production management, financial and risk management, marketing, USDA assistance programs and more. These opportunities are designed to improve farm profitability and promote sustainability. Currently, SFOP provides educational programming in 74 Virginia counties, which have the highest concentrations of limited-resource, socially disadvantaged and veteran farmers in the state.

The origin of BIOFACH: "Bio" refers to organic in German, and "Fach" means "specialist" or "trade," so the name reflects its focus on organic expertise. While the BIOFACH brand launched in Germany and now has a strong presence in the organic industry globally, it is relatively unknown to US businesses focusing solely on the US market. We are excited to be launching BIOFACH AMERICA, part of the BIOFACH WORLD brand. While there have been organic sections of tradeshows in the past, BIOFACH AMERICA will be the first fully organic tradeshow in the US.
