Description

Join us for an insightful session that weaves together grassroots seed work, the importance of crop diversity, and climate resilience in the Southeast. This panel discussion will feature members of regional collectives, farmers, and seed keepers, sharing their experiences of growing, saving, and sharing seeds through collaborative networks.

This session will highlight and share experiences from:

Appalachian Seed Growers Collective: an emerging collective for regionally adapted seeds.

Ujamaa Cooperative Farming Alliance: a seed focused, BIPOC led initiative to reclaim culturally important and ancestral seeds.

Utopian Seed Project: a regional crop trailing non-profit working on agrobiodiversity, climate resilience, and seed sovereignty.

From reasons to save seed to the broader implications of regional seed sovereignty, this session will inspire attendees to engage in the seed-saving movement. Whether you are a gardener, farmer, or simply interested in sustainable agriculture, this panel will offer valuable insights and foster a deeper connection with the seeds that shape our food systems.
