Date & Time
Thursday, February 6, 2025, 1:00 PM - 2:15 PM
Kim Hines Isaac Arriaga
Description

This session will explore how food system leaders are measuring their impact, from creating and tracking metrics to conducting assessments. The presentation takes a behind-the-scenes look at the North American Food System Network’s “Community & Agriculture Resilience Audit Tool” (CARAT) as a unique and holistic tool for food system leaders. Participants will gain an increased understanding of the types of activities, behaviors, and outcomes that can be tracked in food systems (from land management to local policy), the collaborative approaches required for wholistic impact assessment, types of tools available to support their evaluation, and innovation approaches to overlaying economic analysis and social determinants of wellbeing on resilience indicators. They will also engage in an activity to gain hands-on practice implementing these tools.
