Kim Hines is Co-Director of the North American Food Systems Network (NAFSN), an
association of community food systems professionals. Her current interest is tracking national
trends in place-based food systems employment and collaborating on professional development
training, tools, and research to help grow a more diverse and well informed workforce at the
helm of this quickly evolving profession. Kim contributed to the creation of NAFSNā€™s AgriCluster
Retention and Expansion (ACRE) facilitator training, as well as the Community and Agriculture
Resilience Audit Tool (CARAT) in collaboration with expert subject matter experts from
throughout the US. As the former Executive Director for Augusta Locally Grown in 2008-2020,
Kim helped grow the local food economy along the Central Savannah River region of Georgia.
She currently lives in Washington DC.
