Speaker Bio
Scott Richardson, Ed.S., is not your typical Director of Food and Nutrition Services; he is a visionary culinary leader with a passion for cultivating both minds and gardens. Graduating from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA in 1992 laid the foundation, but his journey took an exciting turn when he earned a Master’s in Technology Education from Lesley University in 2007 and a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Georgia College and State University in 2014.
Beyond his impressive academic background, Mr. Richardson has a passion for farming and teaching sustainability to students. As the creative force behind the farm-to-table program in Warren County, he literally sowed the seeds of change by establishing a thriving 2.5-acre school farm. Here, students not only gained knowledge but also hands-on experience in the world of agriculture. Currently, Mr. Richardson is the school nutrition director for Dawson County Schools in Dawsonville, GA where he continues to bring farm-t-table practices to the students of Dawson County.
Scott's dedication to excellence has garnered him a shelf full of awards, including multiple Georgia Golden Radish accolades, the prestigious Conservationist of the Year Award, and the Georgia School Board Association Leading Edge Award for Farm to Table innovation. He was also recognized in 2018 as a FAME Rising Star and continues to blaze a trail in the world of educational nutrition.
