Kathy Taylor is the Director of Medical Nutrition Therapy at Grady Memorial Hospital. She received her BS in Biology from Auburn University. She later completed her BS in Nutrition and Dietetics and MS in Exercise Science from Georgia State University. She has been certified as a Registered Dietitian with Licensure in the state of Georgia for 29 years. She has sought many responsibilities and has served on the Governor’s Commission on Physical Fitness and Sports as well as a Team Member for the America in Motion 30 Physical Activity Institute. She has served on the Board for the Georgia Chapter of the American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition. She was a Healthy Cooking and Adult Weight Management Class Instructor for 6 years with Kaiser Permanente. She expanded her skills clinically and was certified as a Nutrition Support Dietitian and has presented several times on the topic of nutrition support in the ICU for the Southeastern Society of Critical Care Medicine. She currently is helping lead the Food as Medicine collaboration with Open Hand and the Atlanta Community Food Bank through Grady Health System’s initiative to address food insecurity as well as mentor up-and-coming Dietitians in the field of nutrition.
