Chris Onuoha is an educator, engineer, and earthworker committed to advancing food sovereignty and creating resilient, sustainable food systems in Georgia and beyond. Raised in Clayton County, GA, Chris now serves her community as the Assistant Director of Food Access and Community Organizing at Hand, Heart, + Soul Project. In this role, she leads initiatives that bridge education, advocacy, and food justice, including farm-to-school programs, food access projects, and community organizing.
Chris earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Science in Engineering Management from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Currently, she is working towards a Master of Science in Sustainable Food Systems from Arizona State University. She also holds a certification in sustainable urban agriculture from HABESHA, reflecting a deep commitment to regenerative practices. When she is not educating others or working to transform local food systems, Chris tends plants, raises livestock, and keeps bees on her family homestead. She is also an avid reader and nature lover who enjoys exploring Georgia’s trails with her dog.
