Bill currently serves as the Executive Director of The Common Market Southeast and is passionate about strengthening local food systems as part of building overall community wellness. He works directly with over 40 small, diverse family-owned farms helping them to gain access to institutional wholesale markets such as schools, hospitals, governments, corporate cafeterias, food banks and other community-facing organizations.

Prior to leading The Common Market, Bill worked at The Kroger Co. for 18 years in various roles including Vice President of Operations, Legal Counsel, District Manager and Store Manager. As an attorney in private practice, Bill also served clients in the areas of civil litigation, mergers and acquisitions and technology agreements. Bill is a graduate of Howard University where he obtained his bachelor's degree in Business Management and the University of Kentucky where he received his Juris Doctorate. In 2024 Bill completed his Masters in Divinity from Mercer University’s McAfee School of Theology.

Bill is also very involved in the community having volunteered for organizations such as The Boy Scouts of America and Junior Achievement. He also serves on the advisory boards of the City of Atlanta’s AgLanta Brand, the Paralegal Program for Georgia Piedmont Technical College and the South Atlanta Food Bank. He has also served on the board of the Automotive Training Center which focuses on youth skills development.

Bill and his wife Kristy live in East Point and have three adult children, Taylor, William IV and Ethan. They also have one granddaughter Laila.
