Description

Join Patchwork City Farms (Atlanta, GA) and River Queen Greens (New Orleans, LA), two city-based farms, tell the story of their farms’ evolution and considerations when it comes to farming within both urban and suburban environments. Both operations are production focused and aim to serve their community directly through various outlets. Hear them reflect on what it means to serve as a focal point in their communities, considerations in addressing barriers to community food access, how they chose their markets, and important decisions they’ve made around farming on limited land. Additional topics include: farm layout and planting considerations (and limitations), zoning, on-farm labor, and essential farm resources such as water.
