Rukia Monique Rogers has worked with young children and their families for over 30 years, including work as a preschool and toddler teacher, a studio teacher, a curriculum coordinator and child care director. She is the founder and director of The Highlander School in Atlanta since 2013. Her articles are regularly featured in the Child Care Information Exchange magazine and the Reggio inspired newsletter, Innovations. She has been inspired by the educators of Reggio Emilia, bell hooks, Bettina Love, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and many others who see education as a fundamental right, as well as a catalyst for social change. Rukia is an anti-bias and anti-racist educator committed to cultivating a community full of love.
