Stephanie has operated Polyculture Production at Gaia Gardens in Decatur, Ga for the past three years. Before launching her own farm enterprise at the site, she worked there as part time farm crew with Love Is Love Farm for three years prior. She has worked with local food orgs in programming and development since coming to Georgia in 2014, including HABESHA, Inc., Georgia Farmers Market Association and Athens Land Trust. She was Georgia's inaugural FoodCorps Fellow, hosted at Georgia Organics and leading the national nonprofit's AmeriCorps service member teams statewide in its first two years of operation here. She was also a FoodCorps service member with The Food Project in Boston, Ma for two years before taking that role. She brought over 10 years of experience in early childhood education and youth advocacy to her role as a garden/cooking instructor and youth development leader as a service member, having previously taught preschool and pre-k for 6 years, and served as a youth care advocate and shift supervisor in a group care facility for displaced teens from 12-18 years old. She is an Unschooling Mom Emeritus, having guided her only child through self directed education from 5th through 12th grade. She studied fine art and graphic design at Massasoit Community College in Canton, Mass.
