As a fervent advocate of supporting local farmers, Lauren’s passion began while growing up on a hobby farm in central Pennsylvania. She gained hands-on experience working on organic farms in Argentina and an urban farm in Pittsburgh, PA. In 2016, she began building the local sourcing program for FreshPoint Carolinas, growing the program from 30 farmers to supporting over 100 local farmers and artisans. In 2022, she was asked to expand the local program nationally to all of FreshPoint's 34 warehouses. In her current role, Lauren continues to oversee the FreshPoint Local Program, as well as the regenerative agriculture strategy and sustainable assortment for Sysco's specialty meat companies.
