Lauren "LJ" Jones serves as the Executive Director of Shreveport Green, where she has nearly a decade of experience fostering community resilience through environmental education and sustainability initiatives. With over 15 years of experience in regenerative farming, LJ has developed numerous flourishing farms and gardens in Shreveport, including North Louisiana's largest urban farm. Situated within walking distance of downtown, this farm provides both an educational and recreational space for the community, offering volunteer opportunities and workshops year-round to promote hands-on learning and reconnection to nature. In 2021, LJ helped co-found a statewide coalition of nonprofit leaders focused on supporting small farms through the lens of climate change. Her leadership approach prioritizes collaboration, efficiency, and equity. She cultivates partnerships with organizations that share a commitment to environmental stewardship and ensures that public input drives decision-making. Guided by her belief in the resilience of biodiverse systems, she applies this philosophy across all of her work. Her contributions to the community have been widely recognized. In 2024, she received the Outstanding Nonprofit Award from Keep Louisiana Beautiful for her leadership in a major litter cleanup initiative that mobilized over 500 volunteers to remove nearly 30,000 pounds of litter, earning commendation from Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser. Other honors include the 2020 National Farm to School Network Community Champion award and the 2018 Louisiana Champion for Change Award from LSU, both in recognition of her work advancing school garden programs across Shreveport.

Additionally, LJ actively participates in various boards and advisory committees, including the Louisiana Small Scale Agriculture Coalition (LSSAC), Louisiana Sustainable Agriculture Research & Education (LA SARE), Louisiana Community Forestry Advisory Committee (LCFAC), Milam Street Kitchen Incubator & Community Kitchen (MS KICK), and the Board Member of Rotary Club of Downtown Shreveport.
