Marisol Villalobos Rivera is an agribusinesswoman in the breadfruit industry, with a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology and a Master's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez (RUM). She is the Co-Founder and CEO of Amasar LLC, an ecofriendly company dedicated to the planting and processing of breadfruit under an agroforestry and agroecological model. Breadfruit is considered a superfood, because of its high nutritional value and in Puerto Rico its use is centenary. Amasar supports dozens of farmers across the island, purchasing breadfruit locally and processing it into flours and other innovative products like pancake and waffle mixes, that are naturally gluten-free. Amasar's products have been internationally recognized for their quality, flavor, and high nutritional value. Amasar's products are now available in most supermarkets on the Island. They have already begun exporting to the United States. Marisol is Co-founder of Agroempresarias de Puerto Rico, the first state women farming organization in the Island (2018). And also Co-founded AgroPana Inc. (2024), the first breadfruit farmers organization in Puerto Rico. She is committed to educating about agricultural sustainability and promoting breadfruit as a key superfood for good nutrition and the socio-economic development of Puerto Rico. Marisol has a great passion for agriculture, education and nature, deeply embraces family values and firmly believes that education is the tool for social and economic progress, and for the spiritual elevation of societies.
