Cathy Walker is the current President of the American Community Gardening Association (ACGA). She is also Founder and President of CW Walker LLC. Ms. Walker served fourteen years as the Director of Programs (DOP) at Metro Atlanta Urban Farm (MAUF). During her tenure she was responsible for day-to-day operation of the farm. Before becoming DOP at MAUF, she served as a Garden Specialist for The University of Georgia Cooperative Extension/Atlanta Urban Gardening Program (AUGP) for fifteen years; offering gardening instruction and support to some two hundred gardens located at public housing complexes, shelters, schools, churches, and elder care facilities in metro Atlanta.

Ms. Walker stand as a trailblazer in the urban agriculture arena, having seamlessly combined innovation and sustainable practices. His visionary approach has not only transformed city landscapes into thriving green space but has also established a blueprint for community-driven agriculture. With a keen focus on environmental stewardship and community engagement, Ms. Walker’s success is not just measured in harvests but in the lasting impact she has made on urban sustainability and food resilience.

Ms. Walker is recognized as one of the leading females in Urban Agriculture. She has spent the last twenty-six years pioneering inter-city agriculture in the metro Atlanta area. As one of the driving forces in the Atlanta Urban Gardening Leadership Association monthly meeting, she organizes, plans, implement professional workshops and skillful agendas. These meeting are design to give inter-city gardeners an opportunity to learn more about community gardening, leadership skills. There is also a chance to fellowship with others who have the same interest and most of all an outreach to the homeless community that feeds about three homeless men once a month.
Ms. Walker is a true pioneer and passionate about sustainable living, she specializes in urban agriculture, transforming city spaces into vibrant gardens and farms. With a background in horticulture, by promoting community engagement and food security through innovative farming practices in the heart of urban landscapes.
