Description

Join Africulture and our partner, Carter Farms, to explore the latest nutrition and crop science research focused on growing and eating for your ethnic type. We will present leaf tissue and soil analyses of ten crops, highlighting the nutritional benefits and similarities between various African crops and traditional American diet staples. We’ll discuss climate and environmental factors, showcasing the climate-smart practices we implement and the state and federal programs that support these initiatives. Finally, we will outline market opportunities for these crops, including pick-your-own, farmers markets, local stores, and state and federal institutions, while examining their pros, cons, strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities. This workshop aligns with the reparative agricultural principles championed by the Reparative Agriculture intensive.
