Farmers as Athletes: Stretch & Strengthen to Stay in the Game
Date & Time
Wednesday, February 5, 2025, 9:15 AM - 10:30 AM
Janet Aardema
Description

Farming is an active lifestyle, but it often involves repetitive movements and less-than-ideal ergonomics. To maintain your farming practice, prevent injuries, and enhance your physical fitness, it is important to stretch regularly and strengthen complementary muscle groups.

With 14 years of experience in market farming and a background in collegiate athletics, Janet will help you identify the areas where your physical abilities may be vulnerable. She’ll guide you in incorporating stretching and strengthening sessions into your weekly routine, ensuring you can farm comfortably and without injury.

Think you don’t have time? Join us to discover why prioritizing these habits is a worthwhile investment in your farming future. If you’d like to engage in some bending, lifting, and stretching, please wear comfortable clothes so we can move our bodies together! Active participation is encouraged but not required.
