Name
Visioning a transformative research coordination network for Southeast agri-food systems
Date & Time
Wednesday, February 5, 2025, 3:45 PM - 5:00 PM
Description

The purpose of this session is to convene a ‘listening session’ to elicit needs, goals, priorities, and visions for a potential research coordination network (RCN) that would help diverse/small- to medium-scale farms navigate climate risks in the Southeast. The RCN would facilitate collaboration between farmers, researchers, farm-serving organizations, and key decision-makers to (1) articulate shared goals for small to medium-sized southern farm(ers), (2) identify the interventions and existing initiatives that, if scaled up, could move this community towards these goals, (3) generate evidence to demonstrate the effectiveness of these interventions, and (4) coordinate and amplify strategic interactions between network members to catalyze regional change.
