QCS is the certification body of Florida Certified Organic Growers and Consumers Inc., a nonprofit organization that began certifying organic growers in 1987 and received its USDA accreditation in 2001.

QCS is a USDA, COR, EU and ANAB ISO/IEC 17065 accredited certification body that offers a wide array of certification options for farming of crops, livestock, aquaculture, animal feed manufacturing, packing, handling and processing and wild harvest operations. We’re proud of our diverse clients and services, but we’re most proud to offer affordable certification and an unwavering commitment to customer service.

As an industry leader with more than 35 years of experience in certification, QCS has clients in 39 states and 20 countries, meeting the needs of operations regardless of type, location, or size in the ever-expanding worldwide market.

Our staff includes food and agricultural scientists, educators, and regulators, all highly trained in US & international organic and food safety standards. While our home office is in Florida, QCS has full-time staff inspectors in Georgia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Maryland. The Southern Piedmont Climate-Smart Project, led by Rodale Institute, is growing regenerative agriculture in the southeast. This $25 million project has over $6 million in cash and non-cash incentives for organic and conventional farmers, farmers markets, and market producers participating in the project and located in the Southern Piedmont. This project will focus recruitment efforts on farmers and markets in underserved communities to provide financial benefits to those most in need.

The Southeast TN Young Farmers Coalition works to develop a support structure for young farmers. NRCS is a federal agency that works hand-in-hand with Georgians to improve and protect soil, water and other natural resources. We have offices that cover all 159 counties of Georgia, which work with local conservation districts and other partners to serve farmers and landowners in their area.

Ben Dukes
The Small Farm Outreach Program (SFOP), a part of Cooperative Extension at Virginia State University, educates and empowers small, limited-resource, socially disadvantaged and veteran farmers and ranchers to own, operate and sustain farms and ranches independently with agricultural training programs that improve farm management skills and quality of life.

SFOP provides outreach and learning opportunities to small farmers for production management, financial and risk management, marketing, USDA assistance programs and more. These opportunities are designed to improve farm profitability and promote sustainability. Currently, SFOP provides educational programming in 74 Virginia counties, which have the highest concentrations of limited-resource, socially disadvantaged and veteran farmers in the state.
